New Fox-4 platform. Known to most as the SN95. A stiffer, but larger, heavier platform. HP was increased to 215 (240 for the Cobra). Some people agree that the SN95 cars had a nicer, better quality interior.
In '95 Ford built 250 Cobra R's. Cobra Rs were born to race. Sound proofing, A/C, the stereo and the back seat were deleted to save weight. It came with a 351 Windsor and a firmer suspension.
1994-1998 cars look very similar, but have different engines (5.0L vs 4.6L) and a few different styling cues. The 1994-1995 (5.0L) cars have taillights with reflectors that are horizontal, whereas 1996-1998 (4.6L) cars have vertical reflectors.
